Paris Hilton the Subject of a Morbid Sculpture

The singer, actress and hotel heiress Paris Hilton was thought to make a great subject for sculptor Daniel Edwards’ work. At least this is what he believed when he sculpted Paris in a deadly pose. The sculptor said that his work is in fact a warning against drunken driving.
Daniel Edwards’ work is showing the singer naked and dead, having her cell phone in one hand, her legs spread and her head crowned with a tiara. Her little dog is near her, and it is alive.
The sculpture is entitled “The Paris Hilton Autopsy” and it is a statement about the dangers of drunk driving. Paris Hilton was recently convicted to 45 days in jail because of this.
Daniel Edwards is kind of famous for his works and their messages. He had also sculpted a giant head of Fidel Castro and also a life-size nude of Britney Spears, giving birth to bearskin rug.

Lisa Lampanelli Boycotted by Deaf People

The self-entitled “Lovable Queen of Mean”, comedian Lisa Lampanelli, was boycotted by a crowd of deaf people, as she had joked about their disability.
Lampanelli defended herself: “I had said that deaf people aren’t really deaf, they’re just retarded and trying to upgrade themselves.” She then added that: “All of a sudden, they’re protesting. I’m like, are you kidding me? If you can’t see that’s a joke, you’re not just deaf, you’re blind.”
It seems that Lampanelli is a brave woman as she mentioned this time blind people, who could follow the example of the deaf ones and protest against the “Lovable Queen of Mean”.
However the comedian said that one of the protestors told her later that he had given her show a chance and then he had actually liked it. But Lampanelli added that she believed in karma and that she really cared if people got it. That day was a very sad one for her, although her acting seemed not to have been altered by the crowd protesting.

Porn on Kids’ Channel

An American cable company called Comcast mistakenly aired a hardcore porn movie on the Playhouse Disney channel. This happened at 9:30 on Tuesday. Comcast’s spokesperson confirmed the error, while describing it as an “isolated issue in a local New Jersey facility”.
However, many parents got mad about the issue, as they had to explain to their children what was going on. They said that they could not believe their eyes when they saw that on the children channel.

Magicians Vs. Television

49 magicians from Japan are suing two local television networks because of their revealing the secrets behind a series of coin tricks in news footage. The group of magicians seeks damages of about £8,239 from TV Asahi Corp. and from Nippon Television Network Corp. The case was filed in the Tokyo District Court on Tuesday.
Shintaro Fujiyama, one of the magicians, said that the televisions “deprived professional magicians of their assets”.
Fujiyama is 52 years old and he said that “it takes us many years to develop a coin trick as a professional tool.” He added that “they must understand how all the time we have spent is wasted by exposure of the trick.”
The televisions revealed the tricks after a magician and a pub operator had been arrested for punching holes in coins. In Japan damaging of melting coins is against the law.

Eating Pizza, Watching Oscars

Statistics show that during the Oscars’ night more than 1 million households order pizza. The Academy Award nominees from Los Angeles may be very well savoring haute cuisine from fine china, but the ordinary people will order pizza.
A pizza chain from Louisville, Kentucky, Papa John’s Pizza, said that they are selling about 2.5 times as many pizzas on the magic Sunday night than they do on an average Sunday.
People’s number one choice is classically understated cheese pizza, which is followed by the pepperoni pizza with veggie bauble, whether mushrooms, green peppers or black olives.
