After he had been diagnosed with cancer a year ago, the famous opera singer Luciano Pavarotti was admitted in the hospital about a week ago. However, his condition was satisfactory after spending some time with the doctors.
The popular tenor, who has been regarded by many people as the greatest tenor of his generation, was admitted in his home town of Modena’s hospital where he had been taken because of a fever condition. However, it seems that the singer was treated in the hospital’s cancer section.
The hospital’s staff declined commenting anything related to the singer who had a surgery in July 2006 for removing a pancreatic tumor. So the media report that Luciano Pavarotti suffered from pneumonia hasn’t been confirmed.
Nicoletta Mantavoni, Pavarotti’s wife, who visited her husband while in hospital hasn’t either spoken to the reporters.
Pavarotti, 71 years old, has had to cancel the remaining dates of his 2006 farewell opera tour because of the past year surgery. The black-bearded, large tenor has become one of the most popular and well appreciated classical musicians of the worlds since his operatic debut in 1961. He has sung at New York’s Metropolitan Opera, Milan’s La Scala, London’s Covent Garden and others.
