Ben Kingsley and Josh Peck in “The Wackness”

Actors Josh Peck and Sir Ben Kingley will be staring in the comedy “The Wackness”, together with rapper Method Man and other actors such as Mary-Kate Olsen, Famke Janssen and Olivia Thirlby.
The comedy is set in 1994’s New York and its story involved a troubled teenage drug dealer, played by Josh Peck, who trades pot for therapy sessions with Ben Kingsley’s character, who is a drug-addled psychiatrist.
The young man and the psychiatrist will be connected by an unlikely friendship, but everything will become just complicated when the drug dealer falls in love with the doc’s daughter, played by Olivia Thirlby.
The drugs comedy will be shooting in New York and is directed by Jonathan Levine for Occupant Films. The script was written by Levine, who has made his directorial debut with “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane”, which has been a Toronto Film Festival hit and will open early in 2008.
Sir Ben Kingsley has recently appeared in theaters in the comedy “You Will Kill Me”, while Josh Peck is half of Nickelodeon’s sensational “Drake and Josh”. Olivia Thirlby starred in “United 93”.
Famke Janssen has become known thanks to her role as Jean Grey from the “X-Men” franchise, while Mary-Kate Olsen is one of the famous Olsen twins actresses and she recently starred in “New York Minute”.
Rapper Method Man’s recent movie credits include “Gone in 60 Seconds” and “Garden State”.
