Actor Jude Law Awarded “French Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” Medal
The British star from “The Talented Mr. Ripley” has said he has been “speechless” in front of his receiving one of France’s most important cultural honors. The famous actor has been awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres medal by the French ambassador at a ceremony in London.
French ambassador Gerard Errera has described Jude Law, 34-year-old, as “simply one of the most talented actors today”. The latter has said: “My mum and dad have lived in France for 15 years, so really it is a country I share as my home.”, while Gerard Errera has added that this honor has been given to him not in recognition of what he has done for France, but for what he has done as an actor for the whole world.
Jude Law has thanked the ambassador for his “wonderful words”.
The guests from the Residence de France from London have included also Peter Law, the actor’s father, and director Anthony Minghella.
